I Want...Ali Larter's Shoes

Ali Larter looks super-cute at the Gucci Benefit to support Madonna's Raising Malawi Foundation. And not just because she is wearing the most flattering color on the earth. (Don't believe me? Peach looks good on almost everyone. I promise. It's just about finding the right shade.) But because she has my at-this-moment favorite shoes gracing her feet... Gucci's Sevigny High Heel Sandal is the perfect mix of the severe gladiator style sandals that are oh-so-popular for spring and the uber-sexy stiletto. But be wary, even though these heels add height, the thick ankle strap is not the most flattering. So if you don't love your legs, you might want to take a pass on these hot heels.

There's No Place Like Home

Speaking of sparkle.... Manolo Blahnik took the inspiration for his Shiny Sequin Pump from some of the most famous sequins have ever graced the silver screen: Dorothy's ruby slippers, (which most recently sold at Christie's for a stunning $600,000....) Makes those $585 Manolo's seem like a bargain, right?

Brrrr......

Chilly temps mean lots of layers... and cozy winter accessories. But instead of hiding under that parka, get toasty in these unique mittens, scarves and hats. Neck-warmers a little to crazy for you? Go with bright colors and fun patterns to stand out in that sea of black coats.

Need to use your fingers, but hate cold hands? These cozy Convertible Cashmere Mittens have a fold over top that can be worn open and buttoned back, out of the way. And they are extra long, so you can wear them with that adorable coat with cropped sleeves that you bought earlier this fall...

Chunky hand-knit pieces are a DIY-ers dream project. Don't have the time to knit one yourself? Try this Mischa Lampert Big Bow Scarf. I love the purple-y gray color.

This cozy Cashmere Neck Warmer may seem like an odd buy, but it works just like your average scarf... only better. Layer it under a big collared wool coat to add some color or wear it half open over a deep v-neck sweater to create an interesting neckline.

A slim sexy heel makes these quirky Miu Miu Chic Ruffle Pumps more then just demure. Pair them with a sheath dress or pencil skirt to add some oomph to any old office outfit.

The square toe is totally making a comeback... So jump ahead of the curve in these Pierre Hardy Foldover Platform Knee Boots.

Cross-Dressing

Swatch Men's Golden Chest Watch. $165

I'm all for being creative with your wardrobe, but let's be honest, most men's clothing just doesn't fit our curves. And as much as you adore those natty blazers and preppy polos, wearing them without looking dumpy is a feat in itself. The best way to get that strong masculine look without raiding the boys department? Try a guy's watch on for size. Their extra-large faces look formidable on our petite wrists, but that's part of the charm. Add some serious hardware, and some gadgetry and you have a fabulous accessory that you'll have to hide from your boyfriend so he doesn't steal it.

Get That Bag!

I love luxe leather bags just as much as the next girl, but this cute and cozy Gerard Darel Dublin Purse is a fun substitute. And pompoms on a purse? Can you really say no? (Just don't try and match it to a pompom hat, scarf and gloves... the look is mis-matched chic, not my mother bought me a matching set and I'm wearing it all together so she doesn't feel bad.) Try the blush color, like Angelina, or this pretty taupe-y brown.

The Handbag Bubble? Economics and Fashion

In a recent New York Times article, writer Eric Wilson poses the question: Is This It for the It Bag? Many have predicted its downfall, as prices of handbags continue to soar. But industry insiders insist that luxury has not lost its luster... Although author, Dana Thomas insists it has. How much will you pay for a handbag? For my current favorites, click below...

A Tight Fit

If you didn't invest in a pair of tights last season, you need to now... In order to wear those lady-like dresses well into winter, tights are essential. And there are soo many to choose from... I love pairing deep fall colors, like burgundy, purple and navy with black or gray dresses. But for a really fashion forward look, take inspiration from the Coach Bleeker Ad (above) and pair your tights with contrasting colors in similar tones. (Although... I might steer clear of the orange... you don't want to risk looking like an oompa-loompa.)

My favorites: American Apparel's Opaque Pantyhose in navy and plum. They will look great under this C&C Cowl Neck Cashmere Dress or this Vanessa Bruno Short Sleeve Dress.

Looking for some more support? DKNY has some control top opaque tights in a lush ruby color. Pair them with a pencil skirt to keep things muted.

Not so into the brights? Go monochromatic with a neutral, like these taupe See by Chloe Tights. Or try Ella Moss' Whistler Cutout Layered Sweater with a flow-y slip and yummy chocolate colored tights... Old Navy's tights are only $6.50.

But of course, black wins all popularity contests... I love Spanx black Tight-End Tights. Go all black for a slimming effect or pair them with that almost too short dress for extra coverage. (This Cynthia Rowley Shift Dress is pretty cute.)

Millinery 101: Eugenia Kim

Now I'm not really a hat person... I wish I was, but I buy them and then never wear them. And while I may have pledged to abstain from hat buying until I actually step out into the sunlight with one of the many I own, you can buy one of these cute toppers from Eugenia Kim. Her designs are so fab that Coach just tapped her to design a 20 piece collection for their stores. (But sorry, you will have to wait until Feb. for those...)

The cloche is THE hat to have this fall. As seen on Marc Jacobs Fall 2007 runways, this 1920's silhouette looks impeccably posh with this season's more demure clothes. So check out the Joy Fur Felt Cloche in brown or tan. I love the gold-tone hardware. Or try the velvet ribbon Juliana Cloche.

Looking for something a little more classic? Try this Muffy Herringbone Equestrian Cap. This style suits most face shapes and is so popular that Eugenia does it in multiple colors and fabrics every season.

The Maggie style is also tres chic and a little less slouchy. I love the nubby texture of this Maggie Boucle Cap. And just like the Muffy, the Maggie comes in multiple fabrics. So check out the graphic black and gray of the Maggie Wool Plaid Cap. It's equally adorable.

But my true blue favorite? This Owen Black Sheared Mink Hat. Ok, ok... it might be a little much. But its funny and super cozy and incredibly glam all at the same time. Now what more could you want from an article of clothing?

Get that Bag!

Seen: Cute little Hayden Panettiere carrying Rebecca Minkoff's Morning After Bag. (Love the name... and the bag...) It's the perfect size for a daily carryall, and structured enough to look professional. Available in multiple colors and a mini size on Rebecca Minkoff's website.

Posh Traveler

No girl should be without a luxe weekender big enough for a four day escape from the city. And my absolute favorite right now?? A gorgeous Marc by Marc Jacobs bag in his new washed leather with fun plate luggage tags. But unfortunately for you all... I haven't found it online. (And you know I've searched everywhere...) So instead, here are some equally luxurious duffels for your lost weekend. And for all your other travel needs, check out flight001, the coolest travel gear site on the web. (Cashmere throw blanket anyone?)
