I Want...Ali Larter's Shoes

Ali Larter looks super-cute at the Gucci Benefit to support Madonna's Raising Malawi Foundation. And not just because she is wearing the most flattering color on the earth. (Don't believe me? Peach looks good on almost everyone. I promise. It's just about finding the right shade.) But because she has my at-this-moment favorite shoes gracing her feet... Gucci's Sevigny High Heel Sandal is the perfect mix of the severe gladiator style sandals that are oh-so-popular for spring and the uber-sexy stiletto. But be wary, even though these heels add height, the thick ankle strap is not the most flattering. So if you don't love your legs, you might want to take a pass on these hot heels.

Eh... Excuse me, but...

Now I love Katherine Heigl as much as the next girl. Loved her on Grey's (pre-4th season, of course), loved her in Knocked Up (sooo funny) and even went to go see that fairly unexciting rom-com, 27 Dresses. She's not one of those PYTs that seems untouchable or better than thou. She stuck up for George when he came out of the closet. She laughs a lot in interviews. Seems pretty down to earth. And she has really cute clothes. She's like a regular ol' girl friend you have coffee with, but just happens to be a movie star. So, as her friend (come on... just pretend for a minute), I feel like I need to tell her that the '90's Country-star Hair' needs to go. It's like she went to one of those photo studios in the mall and let them go crazy with a curling iron. Please sweetie. You are adorable. And totally poised to be the next Julia Roberts. Why ruin your chances with 90's mall hair?

The Price of Pink

Random fashion factoid: Last spring, Audrey Hepburn's famous pink dress in Breakfast at Tiffany's sold for a staggering $192,000. Think that's a lot for a dress? It's nothing compared to the price of Holly Golightly's iconic LBD, which sold for more than $800,000 at auction. More proof that true style has no price tags.

M.I.A. for Marc

Posh may be getting all the attention for her 'Posh in a Bag' Spring Marc Jacobs Ad Campaign. (Which I have to admit, is pretty amazing... Posh in a bag? Photographer Juergen Teller, who always shoots Marc's campaigns, scores again.) But the fabulous photographer also shot the tarty M.I.A. for the new Marc by Marc Jacobs ad campaign. So start thinking warm weather, bright colors and hope that the ever talented M.I.A. comes out with another album soon.

There's No Place Like Home

Speaking of sparkle.... Manolo Blahnik took the inspiration for his Shiny Sequin Pump from some of the most famous sequins have ever graced the silver screen: Dorothy's ruby slippers, (which most recently sold at Christie's for a stunning $600,000....) Makes those $585 Manolo's seem like a bargain, right?

Even Icons Make Mistakes....

The great Kate took a major fashion risk at the Led Zeppelin reunion concert in London by donning this furry concoction of a coat... Normally she pulls crazy with panache, but this shaggy coat (paired with her even shaggier haircut) looks unkempt, in a Chewbacca with a Cruella De Vil dye-job kind of way... Not a good combo.

Brrr...

It's been pretty chilly this week in NYC... But that doesn't seem to stop Petra Nemcova from subjecting her toes to frigid 40 degree weather. Shouldn't a model know that sandals need to be shelved for the winter months unless it's a dressy occasion? You aren't going to pair winter boots with a fancy cocktail dress... And pairing sandals with a winter coat seems equally absurd. So if the only reason you have to wear sandals is to show off your pedicure, please, put the sandals away and grab a pair of pumps. Your toes will thank you.

Get Her Look

Rihanna takes some extreme fashion risks... And almost always manages to look utterly awesome. (High waisted jeans + bustier? Not a good look on most, but she pulls it off with style points to spare...) So when she wears something that you can buy for yourself, take notes... (Okay okay... so not many people can pull off over the knee boots. I'm talking about the jacket...) Graphic black and white look great on everyone, and this Madison Marcus Belted Coat has a chic modern silhouette. For a look like Rihanna's, pair it with black boots, (over the knee or not) black jeans and a slouchy black bag. To shop the whole look... click below...

A Bodysuit? (Definitely a Dogma Don't)

While we all may be amazed at how Sharon Stone has managed to keep her body in better shape than most 20somethings, it does not excuse the wearing of a body suit. Period. Especially a body suit that rides up in places on Sharon Stone that I'd rather not think about. Just because we saw it in Basic Instinct does not mean we want to see it again...

Get That Bag!

I love luxe leather bags just as much as the next girl, but this cute and cozy Gerard Darel Dublin Purse is a fun substitute. And pompoms on a purse? Can you really say no? (Just don't try and match it to a pompom hat, scarf and gloves... the look is mis-matched chic, not my mother bought me a matching set and I'm wearing it all together so she doesn't feel bad.) Try the blush color, like Angelina, or this pretty taupe-y brown.

More SATC Movie Pics

Although Sarah Jessica may have been victim to some unfortunate polling by Maxim, (Unsexiest Woman Alive? Ouch.) she and the gals are continuing to film in NYC... Here are some pics from a snowy scene in Bryant Park, home of New York's fashion week. Also new in Sex and the City Movie news? Billionaire, mayor and possible presidential candidate, Michael Bloomberg, will apparently be joining the ladies on screen. (Don't know who Bloomberg is? You need to stop reading UsWeekly and pick up a newspaper... I'm ashamed of you.)

Sneak Preview

Now Ugly Betty doesn't suck you in like Grey's or have quite the fashion panache as Gossip Girls, but it is a pretty adorably funny show. And this week, both Vera Wang and Victoria Beckham make cameos... So for double the fun, tune in this Thursday at 8/7 c or just set your tivo. And for a sneak peek, click here..

Reason #47 Why Leggings Should Not Be Worn as Pants

If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times... Leggings are great, under tunics, too short skirts and worn around the house, but THEY ARE NOT PANTS! Nor should they be worn instead of pants... And Tyra's unfortunate outfit is just one more example of why. Maybe with all the crazies roaming the streets of Manhattan for Halloween, she thought people wouldn't notice her horrendous outfit. But headscarf, granny glasses and too low top aside, those leggings are just inexcusable.

Rachel Zoe's Must-Haves

I've already told you about the fabulous shoe selection over at Piperlime.com. And now, stylist to the stars, Rachel Zoe, picks out her faves for fall... Looking for more advice from the woman who dressed the likes of Nicole Richie (pre-catfight,) Lindsay Lohan (pre-rehab,) and Paris Hilton (pre-jail)? She's also written a book, Style A to Zoe: The Art of Fashion, Beauty, & Everything Glamour.

Star Style: Cameron Diaz

Seen: Cameron Diaz looking simply chic as she leaves dinner. So if you are tan and leggy and thin enough to pull off this look, check out how to below...

Lily McNeal's Cherry Scoop Back Sweater Dress adds curves to an otherwise boyish figure with a slim belt. Lost that summer tan? Try a similar look in a different color. Beige will wash you out.

Sophisticated maryjanes add some polish to the more casual dress. But remember, ankle straps make legs appear shorter, so stick to styles where the strap hits lower, like these Valentino Patent Mary Janes. Or for something less pricey, try N.Y.L.A.'s 'Valerie' Pump.

I heart this Carlos Falchi Crocodile Envelop Clutch. But... it is a little cost-prohibitive. Any large black clutch will do, but for a little animal magnetism, try Jill Stuart's Croc-Embossed Francesca Clutch.

Add some bangles, and a leopard print scarf and you have Cam's outfit, piece by piece... But remember, what works for her, may not work for you, so pick the pieces you like and incorporate them into your own wardrobe.

The Fashion Diaries

Now let me preface this by saying that Anne Hathaway is totally cute... She doesn't show up in the tabs walking drunkenly out of bars, doesn't flick off photographers, doesn't seem to be a crazed superficial shop-a-holic and hasn't hooked up with every major actor you've ever had dreams about. She has a serious boyfriend (pictured), a great career and generally good fashion sense. But this purse (I believe it is Devi Kroell for Target) is just WAAAAY too big for her tiny frame. Is she headed to the airport? Is she planning on stealing dinner rolls from the restaurant? What on earth is she stashing in there?? It's one thing to carry a sick carryall to work and back... I have a bag that could fit the kitchen sink. But please please please, if the bag is wider than your body... leave it at home.

The Great Kate

Stop the presses!!!! Kate Moss has... wait for it... cut her hair!! I know this may not seem like a notable moment to many of you... But coming from the girl who started more trends than I can count (Balenciaga bags, and mukluks are just some of the few), inspired numerous fashionistas (Sienna Miller, MK and Ashley, and pretty much any girl walking the streets in downtown NYC), and ushered in the skinny jeans trend as quickly as she ended it, any major fashion change is major news. And these sexy 70's bangs definitely make the cut.

New York State of Mind

Get that Bag!

Seen: Cute little Hayden Panettiere carrying Rebecca Minkoff's Morning After Bag. (Love the name... and the bag...) It's the perfect size for a daily carryall, and structured enough to look professional. Available in multiple colors and a mini size on Rebecca Minkoff's website.

The Corpse Bride

Digging up vintage wedding dresses is generally not a good look... They more than too often highlight some of the uglier trends of any era. (Puffy sleeves, sheer bodice, way too many ruffles, and that, "Oh, I'm hiding a vampire bite" neckline.) But its one thing to throw on the gown that grandma wore down the aisle in the privacy of one's own attic and quite another to wear it down the red carpet. So Shannyn Sossamon, stop taking fashion cues from Carrie (the horror film Carrie, not cute lil' SJP.) If looks could kill... you would. (And please god, what is with those horrendous shoes?)
