This CFDA Finalist has a modern take on classic and clean American sportswear. After working for Katayone Adeli and Development, Phillip Lim launched his signature line, 3.1 Phillip Lim, in 2005. He received immediate success both critically and commercially. He won the Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent by the CFDA. And only one look at his streamlined clothes need to tell you why. They have have a refined charm and a great attention to detail. His clothes are chic and polished without ever looking stuffy.
I love his looks for Fall 2007 and lucky you.... they are already in stores!!! So here are some of my favorites... including some left over from last season
This Pleat Front Shell is both delicate and architectural at the same time. A great top to wear out over jeans or hidden under a suit.
The high neck on this Ringlet Band Collar Blouse is elegant and slightly retro. Wear it with slim-fitting pants or jeans for a sophisticated casual look.
This simple, yet elegant Bow-Knot Draped Dress is a great option when you don't want to wear just another LBD. The sweeping fabric and fuller cut are also a great way to cover up a not-so-flat tummy.
I love the over-sized bows on this otherwise simple Wale Wool Coat. The slightly cropped sleeves add a lady-like feel as well.
This show-stopper was one of the last pieces to walk down the runway. The studded collar and flowy body of this Embellished Neck Cocktail Dress are divine. But this dress is for the young and thin... sorry for the rest of you...
