I think that looking to celebs for fashion tips is a great way to see new trends (after all, they get the clothes months before you can.) And it's also great to see what works best for certain body types, complexions and hair colors (without having to pull out your own Polaroid and make like Gisele. Or worse, be that annoying girl who is constantly asking how fat she looks... because honey, if you need to ask, that means you probably already know the answer.... the question should be "Is this flattering on me?") Anyway, I digress. The point is that looking to celebs for fashion inspiration is totally acceptable. Going out and copying them, however, is not something I condone.
Reason #1: You will never look as good as the celeb in question. They have armies of makeup, hair and wardrobe people that get paid thousands of dollars. Plus, most of the pictures you see are photoshopped anyways.
Reason #2: Your clothing should be expressive of YOU, not someone else.
Reason #3: Imitation might be the sincerest form of flattery, but being unique is divine.
That said.... Here is Nina Ricci's Floral Jacquard Knee Length Dress, similar to stunner by the same designer that Reese Witherspoon wore to the 2007 Golden Globes. If you think you can make it your own, go for it. Otherwise, admire it from afar, take notes, and use them to educate your future fashion choices.
