Searching For... the Perfect Flat Boots

Three years ago, I was searching frantically for a pair of fashionable flat boots... I had just moved to Chicago and couldn't handle wearing heels on the slippery sidewalks of winter. I didn't have much luck, and ended up buying some classic Frye Harness Boots, which were great, of course, and I will wear them for years to come, but sometimes you want a little variety. Now there are so many options, whether you like a preppy equestrian look, an edgy biker-babe style, or a minimalistic feel. So try on a few... because if you don't have a pair of these in your closet, your feet won't be thanking you.

I am totally lusting after these gorgeous Miu Miu Motorcycle Knee Boots. The chunky heel and belted stirrup aren't too conventional, but the color and rounded toe make them extremely wearable. Just throw them on with some tapered jeans or a structured sheath dress to add some edge to any outfit.

For a more affordable option, check out the boots at Frye or your nearest Aldo/Bakers/Nine West... I'm sure some they have knocked off these beauties already.

These Ralph Lauren Leather Riding Boots have a more equestrian look. The gold-tone hardware looks great against the buttery soft brown leather.

Find a more rustic look in a lower price with the Coach Weslyn Boot.

This Kors Michael Kors 'Brink' Boot can go equestrian or mod depending on your color choice. Available in both brown and black, this boot exudes modern sophistication. And I love the inside zip detail.

Also try... The Cole Hann Air Neesa Tall Boot. (Nike Air Technology makes them super-comfy.)

Or the Nine West Kamella. (It's less than half the price!)

Round toe styles are great for people with bigger feet (sometimes I feel like pointy toes make me look like a giant... I wear size 9.) And these versatile Giuseppe Zanotti Flat Boots can be worn ruched or straight.
