If you didn't invest in a pair of tights last season, you need to now... In order to wear those lady-like dresses well into winter, tights are essential. And there are soo many to choose from... I love pairing deep fall colors, like burgundy, purple and navy with black or gray dresses. But for a really fashion forward look, take inspiration from the Coach Bleeker Ad (above) and pair your tights with contrasting colors in similar tones. (Although... I might steer clear of the orange... you don't want to risk looking like an oompa-loompa.)

My favorites: American Apparel's Opaque Pantyhose in navy and plum. They will look great under this C&C Cowl Neck Cashmere Dress or this Vanessa Bruno Short Sleeve Dress.

Looking for some more support? DKNY has some control top opaque tights in a lush ruby color. Pair them with a pencil skirt to keep things muted.

Not so into the brights? Go monochromatic with a neutral, like these taupe See by Chloe Tights. Or try Ella Moss' Whistler Cutout Layered Sweater with a flow-y slip and yummy chocolate colored tights... Old Navy's tights are only $6.50.

But of course, black wins all popularity contests... I love Spanx black Tight-End Tights. Go all black for a slimming effect or pair them with that almost too short dress for extra coverage. (This Cynthia Rowley Shift Dress is pretty cute.)
